This form is used to request additional storage for household goods beyond 90 days due to conditions beyond the member s control It requires the member to certify the reasons the installation to approve the storage and the transportation officer to authorize the commercial storage In order to request an additional 90 days of SIT submit a DD Form 1857 Temporary Commercial Storage at Government Expense The individual will complete and submit a DD Form 149 Application for Correction of Military Records i Before BCMR action involving excess costs can occur the member must appeal the case by filing a rebuttal
